PNFWH Resolution

The Pakistan National Forum on Women’s Health (PNFWH) has successfully introduced and gained approval for a groundbreaking maternal health resolution titled “Combating Maternal and Infant Mortality in the 21st Century.” Proposed by Dr. Syed Furqan and supported by Dr. Sahershah Syed and the board members, the resolution focuses on establishing a comprehensive approach to enhance the health and well-being of both mothers and infants in communities. The resolution’s implementation involves collaborative efforts with organizations such as the Pakistan Medical Association and SOGP, including press conferences and meetings with policy makers to address maternal mortality issues and shed light on the link between poverty and maternal deaths. PNFWH also plans to initiate an LPN course to train mid-level health care providers, ensuring the competency of midwives through its PNC-approved institutions. A key element of the resolution is the promotion of accessible health information for expectant mothers through the training of healthcare workers.
